This is Our Story

Tennis in the Waterloo area was booming and they had to turn down membership applications. It was then that the club decided to undergo a significant upgrade of their facilities.” color=”#808080″][vc_column_text]

Their existing four red clay courts were ripped up and a new surface called Har-Tru was installed. This surface was chosen for two significant reasons: better drainage (quicker after a rainstorm) and it was much easier on the members. The club had hoped to tap into provincial funds that were available but were unsuccessful. In order to minimize the financial impact on the club, the membership became involved in the installation of the new courts.

The installation and resulting playing conditions were very well received and soon word got around to other clubs in Southern Ontario. Having been intimately involved in the original install, Ron’s expertise was soon sought after by those looking to install these state-of-the-art courts.

Over the next 15 years, Ron’s business continued to grow and in the 80’s he took the plunge into full time court construction and supply. His expertise was sought after by most of the major clubs in Toronto, including Boulevard Club, Cricket Club, Granite Club, B&R Club, TLTC and York Club as well as some clients in the Caribbean.

Ron continued to provide his expertise full-time into his late 80s. Over the last few years he has lent his vast knowledge and occasionally gentle guiding hand to his son Peter.

As the racquet sport landscape evolved, the business expanded its product offering to include pickle ball and padel. With these exciting new opportunities in front of us, we decided to rebrand as TopSpin Racquet Sport Resources which will more accurately reflect the work we do.
